Can I part exchange my car with outstanding finance?
If your current car has outstanding finance on a PCP or HP agreement, we can still take the car from you. All we’ll need is an up-to-date settlement letter from the finance company. We pay the amount direct to the finance company through an instant bank transfer.Â
-
How do I part exchange a car with personalised plates?
If you’re keeping your personalised number plates, you’ll just need to put your number on retention with DVLA. Once this has been done, you’ll receive a revised V5 document with a new allocated registration number for your current car. Once this arrives, just pop in and we'll complete the sale making sure your personalised plates are switched over.
-
What will happen to my cars registration document once I have completed the sale with Carlingo?
We will contact the DVLA online to let them know your car has now been sold to us.
-
What happens to the vehicle tax on my old car?
Once we have informed DVLA that the vehicle has been sold, they will automatically generate a rebate and a cheque will be posted to you within 10 working days direct from DVLA. If your car tax is on direct debit, inform your bank and cancel your direct debit.

Will Carlingo take a car with partial service history?
